How to get Iron Ore in Palia

The beautiful island of Palia spawns different types of minerals that you’ll want to stock up on for your crafting needs. Iron Ore, being an essential mid-game resource in this cozy life sim, is quite abundantly available, but if you’re struggling to farm it, we’re here to help.

Resource gathering is the backbone of Palia’s progression, and the versatile Iron Ore and Iron Bar are the foundation for crafting numerous items during your journey. That said, like with every mineral in this game, you’d need to know where to look—or you’ll end up wasting hours exploring the wrong spots on the vast map.

If you’re done trying to figure out the secret by yourself, this guide is all you need to know the best Iron Ore farming spots in Palia, the recipe for Iron Bars, and more.

Where to find Iron Ore in Palia

Iron Ores spawn in the Bahari Bay and Elderwood regions of the Palian Island. You can find Iron nodes across several locations in Bahari, but it’s a rare spawn in Elderwood.

Make sure you look near cliffs as mineral nodes are usually found tucked in the edges. If you’re looking to farm a lot of Iron at once, we recommend exploring the cliffs situated south of Thorny Thicket, Flooded Steps, Proudhorn Pass, and Statue Garden in Bahari Bay. You can also find a bunch of these nodes in the cliffs of Pulsewater Plains and to the south of it. We’ve marked a few locations to help with your search in the map snippet below.

If you’re wondering how to identify Iron Ores in Palia, look for rocks with gray (a slightly blue-ish tinge) nodes with black bulges coming out of them. The size of the deposit will determine the amount of iron ore you’ll obtain, with larger deposits offering greater quantities.

You’ll need a Standard Pickaxe or higher to mine Iron nodes in Palia. If you’re still struggling to find the ores or just want a simpler farming experience, you can also use the Ore Compass (recipe unlocks at Level eight mining and can be purchased from the Mining Guild Store) to highlight all large Iron nodes in an area for a short time.

How to use Iron Ore in Palia

Once collected, Iron Ore can be smelted into Iron Bars using a Smelter that you can obtain from Hodari, the miner NPC.

The obtained Iron Bars from the Smelter can be used in various crafting recipes, such as upgrading your tools, but can also be sold for 43 gold coins of value.

Mining is a crucial skill to learn and master in Palia, but the cozy MMO offers plenty more activities, from gardening to cooking, and even fishing, which might prove more challenging than you think, considering the multitude of fish to catch.
