How to get inside the Abandoned Shack in Star Wars Jedi Survivor

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has finally launched for consoles and PC, and gamers around the world are embarking on their second planet-hopping adventure in a galaxy far, far away. The open-world video game sequel sees the return of Cal Kestis, a former Jedi Padawan introduced in 2019’s Jedi: Fallen Order.

Set five years after the first game, Jedi: Survivor follows Cal – now a powerful Jedi Knight – as he continues his crusade against the Empire. With his droid companion BD-1 in tow, Cal traverses the galaxy visiting planets both new and familiar.

Each planet is chock full of hidden secrets, valuable treasures and an array of dangerous enemies. Players will need to set aside plenty of time to explore everything Jedi: Survivor has to offer, including completing its many side quests.

One of these extra missions – referred to as Rumors – can be found on Koboh, Cal’s hub planet. After returning to Rambler’s Reach Outpost from the Forrest Array, players will see one of the planet’s many prospectors leaning against the Stables.

The ‘Investigate the Abandoned Shack’ Rumor can be found at the Rambler's Reach Outpost Stables (EA)

When speaking to him, he’ll mention a place called Qi’s Workshop and initiate the ‘Investigate the Abandoned Shack’ Rumor. Completing this mission will provide Cal with an invaluable resource, but it can be a little tricky.

So here, we explain how to complete the Investigate the Abandoned Shack Rumor.

How to get inside the Abandoned Shack in Jedi Survivor

The Abandoned Shack Rumor map marker will lead players to Foothill Falls, close to where Cal met Skoova the fisherman. It’s here where players will find a Relter waiting on the edge of a cliff that can be used to glide across the gorge and reach the other side.

After you land, head forward to reach the shack, where you will be set upon by a group of Raiders. After dispatching these enemies, investigate the shack and you will notice some its walls can be removed using the Force.

But there is one dark wall inside that cannot be moved, and it is on the other side where this quest’s reward lies. To get inside, you should leave the shack and return to where you landed with the Relter.

There is another path leading off to the side with a small pool of water at the end, where players will find a scannable Databank Entry and a Nekko. Mount the Nekko and ride it back to the shack, where players will notice a ‘runnable’ wall high above Cal’s normal reach.

If you approach this wall while on the Nekko and super jump then Cal should be able to run along it and reach the higher area. Swing over the adjacent bars to find a sliceable console that BD can hack.

This will spawn a Roller Mine that can be led over to the shack, which conveniently has a large hole in its roof. Let the mine follow you to the edge of the platform and use the Force to grab it and throw it down into the hole in the roof and into the shack’s door.

Now the door is destroyed, you can jump down and enter the shack’s back room where you will find a Stim Canister. Collecting this loot will complete the Rumor and let Cal continue his main quest.

Cal can activate a nearby shortcut underneath the bars to easily leave this area, but while you’re here, it may be worth hanging around and exploring yet another hidden area. On the side of the shack where Cal fought the Raiders, there is a cellar door that can be removed using the Force.

Remove this and jump into the open hole and players will find a Sense Echo on a makeshift grave. In the next room, there is a droid called T-1N8.

Interact with the droid and they will reveal how they have been trapped down here for a number of years after their owners were killed. After Cal says the Raiders have gone, T-1N8 will be invited to head for the Rambler’s Reach Outpost.

In this room players will also notice a grate on the wall that can be removed, opening a small passage that Cal can squeeze through to enter the Phon’qi Caverns. Depending on your progress in the game, this area cannot be fully explored until you unlock the Force Lift and Slam ability.

Luckily, there is a mediation point here that can be unlocked for quick fast travel access should you need to return to this area later in the game.
