Iguana Leather is one of many animal resources you can obtain in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and use to unlock Edward’s upgrades. Iguana Leather, in particular, is used for the first Smoke Bomb and Health upgrades.

Iguana Leather location in AC Black Flag Resynced
Iguana Leather drops from iguanas, and the three main locations to find them are: Abaco Island (north of Nassau), Andreas Island (west of Nassau), and Great Inagua. All three locations are featured early in the story, so you should be able to hunt them down fairly quickly.
You can come across iguanas on other smaller islands across the map, but these three are the most consistent way to get Iguana Leather. However, you can also buy Iguana Leather for three Bones at the General Stores after you build one at your hideout in Great Inagua.
How to get Iguana Leather in AC Black Flag Resynced
Use the map and map icons to find the area where Iguanas are. To make your life easier, use Eagle Vision, which highlights nearby animals in red. Usually, there are two iguanas per spawn location, and they respawn after you reload the game’s save.
Crouch towards the iguana (walking or running scares them away), and use the pistol to shoot it. You can use a sword, but it only takes one shot to kill an iguana and allows you to kill it without scaring it away.
Come up to the dead iguana and skin it to get all the loot. An iguana drops one Iguana Leather, with a chance of also dropping Bones that you can trade at the General Store.
How to use Iguana Leather in AC Black Flag Resynced
Iguana Leather is used for two early upgrades: Smoke Bomb and Health. Each upgrade requires two Iguana Leather. To unlock the upgrades, head to the inventory and open the Crafting menu (Anvil). There, you can see all of Edward’s upgrades, their values, and required resources. Unlike Jackdaw’s upgrades, you don’t need Reales to unlock them, only animal resources.
