How to get Heart of Corruption in Abiotic Factor

In Abiotic Factor, the deeper you go into the game’s anomaly-ridden labs and reactors, the more hostile and unpredictable things become. Among the rarest and most mysterious late-game items is the Heart of Corruption, a corrupted CPU overtaken by abyssal growth.

It’s not easy to find, but if you’re looking to unlock advanced crafting and story progression, it’s worth the effort. It’s a key part of unlocking some of the most advanced content and gear in the game. But what exactly is it, and more importantly, how do you get your hands on one?

Here’s everything you need to know about the Heart of Corruption and how to get it in Abiotic Factor.

The Heart of Corruption is essentially a corrupted CPU that’s been overtaken by abyssal growth. It’s a rare, high-tier item in Abiotic Factor, often described as a “corrupted CPU infused with abyssal biomass.” Primarily used in late-game crafting recipes, high-security keypads, and for unlocking parts of the deeper story, it is considered an advanced item in Abiotic Factor, and you won’t find it just lying around in the early sectors.

This item can be obtained from one place only: the Corrupted Robot. These scary enemies don’t appear just anywhere; they only show up during specific Assault Events tied to the game’s Reactor zones, specifically inside the Mist Reactor.

How to get the Heart of Corruption

After you have gained access to the Mist Reactor zone, one of the most dangerous and terrifying areas in the game, there will always be a chance of a Corrupted Robot spawning inside the vicinity. You will know that one of these scary monsters is about to make their appearance when a message pops up on your screen, reading, “The air feels different…”

Once a Corrupted Robot spawns, you will need to defeat it to have a chance of receiving the Heart of Corruption. There is no guarantee that you will receive one after defeating a Corrupted Robot. This makes the rare item even more elusive and makes you feel rewarded when you finally do find it.

However, defeating a Corrupted Robot is no easy task in Abiotic Factor. So, here are a few tips that might help you in the process:

  • Carry high-powered ranged weapons such as Plasma Rifles or Shotguns.
  • Ensure to put on radiation protection gear and equipment.
  • Bunker down turrets and barricades in advance to soak up wave pressure.
  • Set up a nearby crafting bench to ensure quick heals and repairs.

Fighting a Corrupted Robot can go south very easily. Make sure you are well prepared to take down one of these monstrous beasts, and maybe a few more, until you get your hands on the Heart of Corruption.
