How to get Charged Motes in Nostos mission – Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate

Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate campaign features a lengthy list of missions for you to do. Most missions in the campaign involve new dark matter abilities for combat or puzzle-solving. Nostos is one of the earliest missions, and while short, it showcases that Matterspark isn’t only for exploration.

Here’s how to complete the Nostos mission in Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate.

Follow the path through the inter-dimensional train to the first room of Fallen. Here, transform into Matterspark and use its regular attacks to defeat Fallen. Fallen defeated by Matterspark drop Charged Motes, which you can then collect and dunk at the back of the room. This removes the barrier, allowing you to reach the boss area.

Defeat the Exile Captain

Clear any adds and rally to the banner. The boss fight is quite simple: deal damage until the Captain goes immune, then use Matterspark to defeat enemies and collect Charged Motes—dunk these motes at the generator to keep doing DPS to the boss.

Before the final phase, the Exile Captain will spawn two splinter mines at the bottom of the area. Stand within the mine’s range to defuse it (be mindful of incoming exploding Shanks). Once both mines are defused, finish off the boss.

This concludes the Nostos mission, and you can grab your loot in the same place where you placed the rally banner. This is one of the shortest missions in the campaign, which may make it easier to farm for higher-tier gear on Mythic difficulty.
