The R.E.P.O beta has introduced two new weapons to turn your cart into a tank. You can choose from a Cart Laser or a Cart Cannon, depending on the type of damage you want to do to the enemies on the map. Let’s explore how to get and use the new Cart Cannon and Cart Laser in R.E.P.O.
How to get and use the Cart Cannon in R.E.P.O
The Cart Cannon is a powerful weapon you can attach to your cart and fire at enemies when exploring any of the R.E.P.O maps. You have to be inside the cart to fire the cannon, so having another Semibot driving the cart as you hold the weapon, is ideal. The Cart Cannon has four charges, which equate to one charge per shot, and each shot deals at least 500 damage. This means it is perfect for taking out large enemies like the Trudge or Clown in one go, as long as your aim is good.
You and your team of Semibots can find the Cart Cannon in the Shop, but the chance of it appearing is random and not guaranteed. You are more likely to find the Cart Cannon as you level up, which makes sense as the weapon costs between 40K and 50K.
When the Cart Cannon has used all four charges, it will need recharging with Crystals just like you would any other weapon. We also recommend buying a second cart to use purely as a mobile tank, with one player inside and another driving it around. Of course, this is only possible with more than two players, but with a bit of organization and quick reflexes, it is perfectly feasible for duo or even solo players to get some good use out of the Cart Cannon.
How to get and use the Cart Laser in R.E.P.O
The Cart Laser is similar to the Cart Cannon in the way it works, but differs in effect and damage dealt. You place it inside the cart and then get inside to handle the weapon, firing at any enemies nearby. The laser has four charges and deals 65 damage every second. This is a chaotic, noisy, but fun way to take out mid-to-large enemies like Upscream, Bowtie, and Reaper.
You will find the Cart Laser in the Shop, and it usually costs between 40K and 50K. Just like with the Cart Cannon, we recommend getting a second cart to act as a tank, keeping your first cart for items and orbs.
Charge the Cart Laser using Crystals, and soon you will be speeping through each level with ease.
