Fortnite’s Star Wars Galactic Battle season is at the midway point, and the developer is adding new weapons to the game. The latest update introduced the CA-87 Jawa Scatter Blaster, which has completely flipped the shotgun meta.
Fortnite currently has two decent shotguns in the season. The ACP Scatter Blaster is a hitscan weapon that deals good damage and is the go-to choice for many players. On the other hand, the BARM-ST12 Scatter Blaster sacrifices a bit of firepower, but it is a fast-firing shotgun, which makes it a great option for people who aren’t the best with their aim.
Now, we have a third one in the mix with the CA-87 Jawa Scatter Blaster, and let me tell you, it’s one for the bold ones with its explosive power.
How to get CA-87 Jawa Scatter Blaster in Fortnite Chapter 6 season 3

You can get the CA-87 Jawa Scatter Blaster from the regular chests and ground loot in the game, which makes them fairly easy to find. Across different rarities, the damage ramps up significantly, so definitely keep an eye out for the legendary variant of the weapon. From what we’ve noticed, many players prefer using this weapon in their loadouts, so you can also easily pick them up from enemies.
You can also get the weapon by interacting with Jar Jar Binks NPC, who spawns south of the Burd to go landmark, and you can always purchase the weapon from him if you have enough gold.
How to use CA-87 Jawa Scatter Blaster in Fortnite Chapter 6 season 3

The CA-87 Jawa Scatter Blaster is a solid choice for players who like a hard-hitting shotgun. Its raw damage numbers are higher than most shotguns, making it a no-brainer option for close encounters. However, power comes at a heavy cost. It has a long downtime of around 2.2 seconds after firing just one shot. As you don’t have any ammo in this season, you have the heat mechanic, where each weapon needs to cool down to fire again.
For this weapon in particular, the mechanic kicks in after making a single shot, which makes you wait until the next shot is ready. The cooldown is long and one of the high-risk trade-offs you need to make to wield this weapon, but there is a way to make it better. You can make a body shot, as the headshot doesn’t matter, and it has a small damage multiplier. It is important to hit the shot and swap to any of the quick-firing SMGs to finish the job on your enemy.
Most body shots deal around 150 or more damage, so always feel free to take an extra second to fully land your shot, or else you’ll be in trouble against any weapon. If you’re like me and love the glorious days of OG double pump, this gun comes close to that devastating damage from a close range. Of course, being consistent with your shots is key to making this weapon work, but the satisfaction of hitting one shot and melting the enemy in seconds without giving them the time to react is amazing. If you want your shotgun to be more consistent in your fights, consider sticking to the old shotguns in the game.
