How to Get All Endings in Dig to Escape

Dig to Escape is a prison escape experience on Roblox where players have to dig a hole to escape from prison. But there are other ways to escape the prison and end the game, and this guide provides a walkthrough of how to get all endings in Dig to Escape. So, if you’re struggling to escape or want to try a different escape route, this guide is for you.

All Endings in Dig to Escape

Right now, the game has two endings:

  • The Mineshaft Ending: You dig a mine/tunnel in your prison cell and escape after completing a running mini-game.
  • The Janitor Ending: You collect a few items, complete a puzzle, and walk out of the main door.

A third ending is coming to Dig to Escape on December 14, 2025. Once it is live, we’ll update this guide with a walkthrough for that ending too. For now, let’s see how to get the Mineshaft and the Janitor Ending in Dig to Escape.

How to get the Mineshaft Ending in Dig to Escape

The Mineshaft ending is the default ending in Dig to Escape. To get this ending, you’ll dig a tunnel in your prison cell and then complete a running mini-game at the end for a successful escape.

As you dig, you’ll find different items that you can sell to get toilet paper. You can then use that toilet paper to buy food to recover energy and buy better shovels to speed up the digging process.

Getting the Mineshift ending can take anywhere between 30 - 60 minutes, depending on how you manage your energy and what items you get early on. Here are some tips and tricks that you can follow to speed things up and get the Mineshaft ending in Dig to Escape:

  • Start with the Energizer Class. This class uses 20% less energy when digging. You’ll be able to dig for a lot longer, consume less food, and save Toilet Paper as well.
  • Keep upgrading your digging tools. You’ll start with a spoon. It can dig up the first two layers, but it is extremely slow. Get the plastic shovel (red shovel) as soon as possible. After that, stock up on Explosives and save up to get the Trovel. You can skip the Spatula if you want. If you see the Iron Shovel early and have the Toilet Papers needed to trade for it, go for it.

  • The guard can only end your run if you get caught roaming the halls at night. He can not enter the cell or see you digging as long as you keep your cell door closed. However, you can’t stay in other prisoner cells. If you hide there, the guard will enter and kill you, ending your run.
  • Use the vents to get the supplies at night. If you see an item that you need, but nighttime has come, use the vent next to your cell to access the food and supplies NPCs easily. Items get refreshed every morning, so you might not see that good item soon if you miss out. As long as you stay out of the guard's sight, you’ll be safe.
  • While digging a narrow tunnel will save you time and energy, it could also slow down your progress. Digging in a narrow area will reduce the number of items you get. Fewer items equal less Toilet Paper and slower progression.
  • Never miss the free food from the Cafeteria. You can get food from trading NPCs, but that costs Toilet Paper.

Once you dig through the final layer of concrete, you’ll drop into a mineshaft. Simply walk over to the railtracks in front of you to start the final escape. A small cut scene also plays that shows the guard falling down the tunnel you dug up. If he catches up to you, it’s over. So, don’t look back.

Simply follow the tracks, keep running forward, and avoid any oncoming obstacles until you reach a ladder. Climb up the ladder, and you’ve successfully escaped the prison.

How to Get the Janitor Ending in Dig to Escape

If you don’t want to dig your way to freedom, you can try the slightly more difficult escape route by trying to get the Janitor Ending. You’ll have to grind quite a bit and be a lot more careful, but you’ll be done a lot quicker than the Mineshaft Ending.

Here’s everything you need to do to get the Janitor Ending in Dig to Escape:

  • Start with the Speedster Class. You’ll be doing a lot of movement among rooms and vents, and the Speedster’s faster movements can help you avoid getting caught.
  • Collect 200 Toilet Papers and wait for the Illegal Card to show up at the trader NPCs. You’ll have to do a lot of digging and selling. I suggest you dig all over the area to get as many items as you can as quickly as possible. Also, you might have to wait until Day 12 to see the Illegal Card.
  • Once you have the Illegal Card, head to the Cafeteria and go through the door on the right. You’ll see a Security Room right in front of you. Use the Illegal Card to open the door. Don’t worry, the guard in there is sleeping. Grab the ladder from the Security Room and bring it to the Janitor Room. It’s in the same hallway as the Security Room.

  • In the Janitor Room, place the ladder near the shaft, enter, and follow it to go to the prison’s Electric Room.
  • Outside the room, a guard is patrolling the hall. While avoiding that guard, you now have to collect 12 batteries and place them in the electric box of the Electric Room. Several batteries are sitting on the floor of the hall, and you’ll find some in the various rooms nearby. The batteries are huge and pretty hard to miss.

When you put the 12th battery in, the main door will open. Walk through that door to complete the escape. This ending becomes slightly easier to get when playing with 2 or 3 friends. You can quickly farm 200 Toilet Paper and easily pick up the batteries.
