How to get a ticket for the BRIT Awards - as live audience confirmed

The BRIT Awards will go ahead with a live audience next month.

The ceremony is part of the government's research into how crowds can safely return to large events in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Attendees will not need to wear a face mask or social distance from other people in the audience - but they will need to provide a negative Covid test.

The awards, which are being held on Tuesday 11 May, will be hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall and feature performances from Arlo Parks, Dua Lipa and Headie One.

Here's how you can get your hands on a ticket:

How to get a ticket

This year, there are just 4,000 tickets available for the BRIT Awards.

1,500 of these are already reserved for the nominated artists, their managers and guests, people from the music industry and sponsors of the event.

The other 2,500 will go to frontline workers from London "to thank them for their remarkable hard work and selfless commitment" during the coronavirus pandemic.

If you are a frontline worker, you can enter the ticket ballot on the BRITs website.

Winners will be gifted two tickets each - so each person can bring a guest.

How will it work?

The audience at the BRITs will not be required to wear face masks, and will not need to social distance.

But attendees will need to have a negative Covid lateral flow test result to be allowed into the venue.

All audience members will also be asked to take a Covid test after the event, so the government can gather evidence on the safety of indoor settings.

NHS Test and Trace will also be in operation, so attendees will need to provide their details so they can be contacted in the event someone tests positive.
