How to get a free Greggs, KFC or Burger King as branches reopen

The UK remains in lockdown and the majority of major fast food outlets remain closed.

However, in recent days a number of retailers have confirmed stores will be reopening for collect or delivery, with social distancing measures in place to protect staff and customers.

Baked food specialist Greggs is the latest to announce openings in some locations, while KFC and Burger King have also opened some stores.

To celebrate our favourite fast food returning we have rounded up the latest news on openings and the best way to get up to £15 off to bag yourself a free meal once they are operating in your postcode.

Greggs

Greggs will open 20 stores in Newcastle on 4 May as part of a trial to see if the country's other stores can open. The trial will last for two weeks with a view to opening over 700 stores on 8 June. It is hoped all stores will be open as usual by 1 July.

Takeaway delivery service Just Eat has confirmed it will be delivering Greggs once stores reopen in your area.

However, if you cannot wait to get your hands on a sausage roll or steak bake you can get a Greggs at home by buying official Greggs frozen food from Iceland. You can get it here via click and collect.

Using Topcashback you can get £15 off a Just Eat order if you are a new member. That means you can get a Greggs delivery up to £15 completely free after cashback when you order.

Alternatively, use this £15 cashback for new members to reduce your Iceland shop by £15, making the frozen Greggs items free.

KFC

KFC closed stores at the end of March but has now reopened 11 across the UK in the first phase of reopening.

Stores include two in Manchester and Glasgow, and stores in Heaton Chapel, Tamworth, New Osscot, Portsmouth, Aldershot, Ipswich, Enfield, Bury, Bently Bridge, Great Bridge, Romford Gallows, Tyburn, Norwich, Brighton, Putney, Mornington Crescent and Hammersmith.

It has not confirmed when other stores will open but it is offering delivery via Just Eat. This means the £15 cashback deal is available for those who want discounted chicken.

Burger King

On Wednesday 29 April eight more Burger King restaurants will open.

Burger King assured customers that the Chicken Royale, Bacon Double Cheeseburger and Whopper will all be available to order.

The chain has also said it will keep on opening restaurants until there is one working again in every city in the country by May 31. The latest openings are:

  • Dundee

  • Aberdeen

  • Reading

  • Hillington

  • Southampton

  • Merton

  • Springfield Quay

Burger King will be delivering through Just Eat where stores are open.

McDonalds

Despite a couple of hoaxes claiming McDonalds will be reopening there are currently no plans for restaurants to reopen.

McDonalds says: "Well, our notifications are going wild tonight – we miss you too. We promise we will update you here as soon as we have confirmed our plans. Stay safe, stay at home and we will see you soon."
