Music streaming giant Spotify is offering premium subscribers the chance to claim a Google Nest Mini for free this week.

New or existing subscribers to Spotify's premium service - either the individual version, or its Family or Duo memberships - can claim a smart speaker while stocks last.

Spotify did not say how many of the speakers are available under the deal, which only applies in the UK and Canada.

How do I access the offer?

The offer is accessible via Spotify's website, here.

Premium service users will need to register their interest, after which they will receive a special code that can be applied in the Google Store.

The codes are valid until Saturday, October 31 this year.

The deal is limited to "master account holders" - meaning only the person who pays for a family or duo account, for instance, will be able to take part.

What is the Google Nest Mini?

The Google Nest Mini is one of several smart speakers produced by the tech giant and is capable of playing music, answering questions and serving as a conduit for control of a range of smart devices, among other things.

It is currently sold at the discounted rate of £29 on the Google Store, down from £49.

The Nest Mini requires a WiFi network to connect to.
