Domino's Pizza predicts it will sell over 40 pizzas a second this Saturday as sporting fans stay in to catch some of the biggest sporting events of the year.
With the Champions League final, Anthony Joshua’s Heavyweight title defence and the Cricket World Cup happening this weekend, lots of hungry sports fans will be choosing to have a takeaway in front of the TV rather than cook - and the fast food chain expects a whopping 2,396 pizzas will be ordered every minute across the UK as a result.
The chain is anticipating that 7pm will be the peak time for ordering ahead of the League final kick off at 8pm, so if you want your food pronto aim to place your order before then.
Scott Bush, Operations Director at Domino’s commented: “Two major clubs with massive followings in the Champions League Final could make Saturday the biggest pizza occasion of 2019. Whatever team you support or whatever sport you're watching, we have thousands of pizza chefs primed and ready to serve the millions of football, rugby, cricket, horse-racing and boxing fans glued to screens across the UK.”
