How to get £5 off a £25 spend at Lidl with its new app

If you're looking for a way to ease those weekly food bills, then you'll be pleased to hear about Lidl's latest money-saving offer.

The budget supermarket has launched a new rewards app offering heaps of benefits, such as digital receipts, scratchcards and weekly coupons.

Lidl Plus is free to download and can be found on the Apple and Android app stores. The new app is still under construction, but it's giving users £5 off a £25 shop - which only becomes available after you've registered and confirmed your email address.

All you have to do is download the app, insert your name and select a Lidl store.

After that, you will need to enter your mobile number to verify the account.

Lidl customers can get the £5 off deal by spending £25 or more in a single transaction, but alcohol and infant formula doesn't count towards the spend amount.

It also can't be used in conjunction with any other Lidl Plus coupons which give a discount on your overall spend in a single transaction.

A Lidl spokesperson said: "We are always looking at ways to drive innovation for our customers, and Lidl Plus is another way of doing this whilst continuing to offer the highest quality products at the lowest prices.

"It is currently in a testing phase and once it rolls out with more money-saving features we will be sure to communicate with all our customers.”

The handy offer is available in-store only until Thursday, August 20 - so be quick if you don't want to miss out.

It was originally shared by a savvy shopper on deals site Latestdeals.co.uk, much to the joy of bargain hunters across the UK.

The deal is perfect for cash-strapped parents watching the pennies while the kids are on their school holidays.
