A discount code offers £25 off a Tesco online shop - even if you just use it to buy alcohol or toys, including some electrical items.
The code unveiled by bargain hunters on HotUKDeals means shoppers can knock £25 off a shop of at least £70, ordered online through Tesco. To use the code, you need to be a new customer and sign up for a Tesco online shopping account .
The code can even be used to just buy alcohol. ChroniceLive tested it out by ordering five crates of 12 X 330ml bottles of Peroni, which came to a subtotal, without delivery, of £70. Once we applied the code, the price dropped to £45.
Tesco has a whole host of drink deals at the minute, including premium Grey Goose vodka, down from £39 to £25 for a litre. The discount code means you could buy four bottles of Grey Goose for £75 (not including delivery). At the standard price (without Tesco's offer and discount code applied) four bottles of Grey Goose would cost £156, not including delivery. That's a saving of £81, or 52%.
What is the discount code and how do I use it?
First, sign up for an account on Tesco.com . Then order your shopping and make sure it adds up to at least £70. Then head to the checkout. Before you stick in card details, you'll see a box for voucher codes. Enter the code XXHTFL and click 'use code'. The discount should then automatically apply.
The code may not sort out your entire fresh Christmas shop, unless you plan on freezing fresh meat, as it can only be used for orders delivered or collected by December 18.
Any meat you buy before then then will likely need freezing if you plan on eating it on Christmas Day, which is a week after December 18. If you are ok with freezing meat for Christmas - or are having a dinner party earlier - Tesco has reduced many Christmas mains to half-price , including large beef roasting joints, which are down to £5.50 per kg.
