How to fly in Crimson Desert

Gaining the ability to fly across the map in Crimson Desert can become a true game-changer, but to do so, you'll first need to obtain a specific skill. This skill, like everything else in the game, can be earned by just grinding through the quests.

When you're in the initial couple of hours, there won't be much need for you to fly on the map. The need arises once you start to explore the more advanced areas of Pywel. Let's look at how you can gain flight in Crimson Desert.

How to unlock flying in Crimson Desert

To gain the ability to fly, you'll need to gain a set of crow wings. These wings will activate when you're mid-air. However, these wings, which allow you to glide across large spaces on the map, won't be available by default.

Keep clearing all in-game content until you come across the Woman in White main quest. This quest, available in the Hernand region, will have several puzzles to solve. Once cleared, the game will then lead you to an NPC named White Crow the Witch.

Speak with her and wait for the dialogue to finish. She will gift you a pair of the crow wings that will allow you to fly. This will also unlock the Flight skill on the red skill tree. Like all other skills, you can enhance your flying ability using Abyss Artifacts. Now, you have everything you need to fly in the world of Crimson Desert.

How to use your Flight skill in Crimson Desert

For starters, you'll need to reach a high place to take flight. This can be the top of a landscape, the highest platform on a building, and so on. Dive from the height and as you're falling down, press the Square Button/X button on your PlayStation/Xbox controller. This will activate the flying skill, and you'll start to use your wings to glide.

When in flight, use the LS button to control the direction of where your character moves. You can press the same Square/X button to deactivate flying. Make sure you don't do this when you're still high up in the air (unless you're ready to bear the consequences!).
