How to find your nearest drop-in Covid vaccination centre in Scotland

Huge numbers of eligible Scots have now received all doses of the Covid vaccine, but what if you have not had all your shots?

Vaccination drop-in centres continue to operate across the country.

Public Health Scotland figures show massive 4,400,229 people have had their first Covid jab with 4,087,517 having had dose number two.

In addition to this, over 3.2million Scots have now been boosted with a third dose of the vaccine.

However, the numbers mean that there are still many across Scotland who are yet to receive one, two or even all three jabs.

If you are yet to be fully vaccinated - all three doses in Scotland - then it is pretty easy to get the jab.

Eligible Scots can book online on the NHS portal, or can use any of the walk in vaccine centres across the country.

If a drop-in centre is easiest for you, here is all you need to know and where you can find your nearest clinic.

Who is eligible for the Covid vaccine?

  • People aged 18 and over

Everyone aged 18 and over has now been invited for coronavirus vaccination.

Those over the age of 18 are being urged to get fully vaccinated which means getting dose one, two and a booster third dose of the jab.

You must wait three months - or 12 weeks - between each jab.

  • Children and young people aged 12 to 17

NHS Scotland is offering the coronavirus vaccine to all children and young people aged 12 to 17 years

All those in this age group are to be offered two doses of a coronavirus vaccine.

Teens ages 12 and 17 can now use drop-in clinics for their second dose.

Some children and young people aged 12 to 15 years at increased risk from coronavirus are eligible for a booster dose, from 12 weeks after their second dose.

This includes those:

  • who are at increased risk from coronavirus due to underlying health conditions
  • who live with someone with a weakened immune system
  • with a severely weakened immune system who have had a third primary dose

However, the NHS is asking parents of these eligible teens to wait to be contacted in order to book a booster dose.

  • People with a severely weakened immune system

The third primary dose of the coronavirus vaccine is being offered to people aged 5 and over who had a severely weakened immune system when they had their 2 doses.

The third primary dose for people with a severely weakened immune system is not a booster dose.

Drop-in centres for first and second vaccine dose

You can attend drop-in clinics if you would like to get your first or second dose of the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine. For example you:

  • only recently become a resident in Scotland
  • have become newly eligible by turning 12 years of age
  • didn't attend when invited earlier this year but would now like to get vaccinated
  • had your first dose and did not attend for your second dose (for example you may have moved address, moved countries or recently had coronavirus)

Booster dose drop-in centres

You may also be able to attend a drop-in clinic for your coronavirus booster dose if you're aged 18 years or over.
