Some players tend to confuse their Display Name (what friends see) with their Epic Account ID, but they’re both different.
To party up with friends from other platforms, or make use of cross-play, you only need your Display Name. However, if you’re dealing with customer support or linking console accounts, you’ll need the actual 32-character Epic Account ID.
