PEAK is a peaceful game until you run into the Scoutmaster, a monstrosity that patrols the mountains you're currently scaling. He's tied to one of the rarest achievements in the game, but the reason it's so rare is because most players don't know where to find Scoutmaster in PEAK, or how to get him to spawn. While PEAK is a pretty chill game, this is the only horror element that Landfall has added to this co-op climbing title right now.
Where to Find the Scoutmaster in PEAK
There are two ways to find the Scoutmaster, but the two methods depend entirely upon how you decide to play the game.
Solo
In case you're playing the game solo, to summon the Scoutmaster, you need to find an item called the Scoutmaster's Bugle in PEAK. This is an extremely rare item with an incredibly low spawn rate. So, the chances of you coming across the item are next to impossible. However, while you're at it, be sure to check out every single cliff and ledge, because here's where this item is likely to spawn.
Once you've found the item, you need to blow into it. When you do so, you'll get a massive stamina boost, similar to what you get from eating cooked food. This will cause the Scoutmaster to spawn and chase you around in PEAK.

Playing With Friends
While playing with friends, it's always possible that you might outrun your teammates. If you manage to reach the peak while your friends struggle, the Scoutmaster will spawn and keep chasing you. This is a comparatively easier method to make this monster spawn. And unlike the bugle, this is guaranteed to bring out the Scoutmaster because you've broken one of the fundamental rules of climbing: never leave anyone behind.
Can You Defeat the Scoutmaster?
No, you cannot defeat the Scoutmaster in PEAK. The only way to get rid of it is by avoiding it. You cannot get away by climbing because he's a faster climber than you are. If he catches up to you then, rest assured, you will die. You can't damage him in any possible way either. Funnily enough, the easiest way to get rid of him is outrunning him on plain ground. In fact, if you put some distance between the two of you and then start running in a circle, he'll give up.
The Scoutmaster chases you for approximately a minute at a stretch before giving up. If he spawns when you're playing with a team, he'll chase you till you've reached your struggling teammates. Here are the rewards you get if you successfully manage to spawn the Scoutmaster in PEAK:
- Mentorship Badge
- Inverted Eyes cosmetic
