How to find the number of coronavirus cases in your area using your postcode

The coronavirus pandemic continues to gather pace across the globe with more than 6,000 deaths.

As the guidance surrounding the worldwide coronavirus  outbreak continues to change the public can now check the number of confirmed cases in their area.

There are currently 149 recorded cases in Wales though the true figure is believed to be "in the thousands". Two people have died in Wales so far having tested positive.

Using this tool, which is powered by data from Public Health Wales, will allow people to view the number of confirmed cases and deaths by their postcode. Simply enter your postcode into the interactive widget and it will provide you with local and national information relating to coronavirus.

Earlier this week Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced strict measures that are set to change our country's way of life in the months ahead.

He urged people to limit their contact and to work from home and said: “Now is the time for everyone to stop non-essential contact with others."

On Wednesday it was confirmed that schools in Wales will bring forward their Easter break and close this Friday.
