The return of the golden arches is almost in sight and here’s how you can find out when your Leeds McDonald’s drive-thru will open for business.
Like so many other restaurants, McDonald's had their business affected massively by the coronavirus pandemic but things are now starting to get back to a degree of normality.
Last week, we made many of you happy by revealing McDonald's will reopening all their 924 UK drive-thru restaurants. This will be staggered this week with the eateries due to begin opening from Tuesday, June 2 and all their drive-thrus should be running again by Thursday, June 4.
So, it isn’t long now until you can feast on a Big Mac and a McFlurry again.
How to find out when your McDonald’s is reopening
The fast food giant will confirm the locations that are reopening each morning. The first batch of reopenings is expected tomorrow.
These announcements will be made on McDonald’s social media channels and its website. We’ll also keep you posted which branches will be open in Leeds.
As part of the McDonald’s return, branches will be open between 11am and 10pm. There will be strict social distancing measures in place.
Just one order will be allowed per car and purchases will be capped at £25. In car parks, dividers will be in place, while security teams will patrol zones to ensure visitors comply with safety laws.
In stores, perspex screens have been fitted while all employees will have to carry out temperature checks on arrival.
There will also be a restricted menu - with breakfast scrapped for the foreseeable future due to limited staff numbers.
Customers have been asked to be respectful of staff as they get used to the new way of working.
McDonald's chief executive Paul Pomroy said: "When your local drive-thru does reopen, it will be different. Our service will not be as quick as you might be used to, as we adjust to smaller teams and social distancing in our kitchens.
"We expect there will be some queues for some of our busier sites and our restaurants will look different, with perspex screens at our drive-thru windows and employees wearing protective equipment.
"I ask that you continue to be supportive of and patient with our restaurant teams as we slowly and safely return.
"We are asking all of our employees to adapt to how our restaurants now work, and will only reopen at a pace that enables them to work safely."
