Finding the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Meloetta location is a tough challenge, and not just on account of the melodic ‘mon’s good hiding place. Once you find where Meloetta is, you have to coax them to appear, something the game is happy to make you struggle to figure out for yourself. Once you finally meet all the criteria and make yourself worthy for Meloetta to perform in front of, you’ll get a chance to catch the elusive legendary.
Our Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Meloetta guide lays out everything you need to do to reach that point.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Meloetta location

Meloetta calls the Coastal Biome in Blueberry Academy home. Like most of the non-Paldean legendary Pokemon, you can only find Meloetta if you have the Indigo Disc DLC, as there’s no other way to reach the academy terrarium.
It’s also worth bearing in mind that the Pokemon community is divided on whether Meloetta only appears after you complete the Indigo Disc story. If you arrive at this point and don’t see any of the signs that Meloetta is there, try finishing the main story and returning after you defeat the Elite Four.
How to get Meloetta in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Once you arrive at the spot on the map shown above, look for a small shrub. Approach it, and you should see a leafy whirlwind swirling around. Spin yourself around in the direction the whirlwind is turning by quickly rotating the left control stick. Do this for 30 seconds.
After 30 seconds pass, stop spinning, and take your camera out by pressing down on the direction pad. Choose the sepia filter, and slowly pan the camera around in a circle. You should start to hear Meloetta sing, and then the Pokemon will appear.
How to catch Meloetta in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Meloetta is a Psychic type-slash-Normal type, so bring Pokemon with Bug and Dark moves along for this battle. False Swipe is an excellent choice, as ever when dealing with rare Pokemon, though consider bringing Pokemon who know sleep- and paralysis-inducing moves as well.
Most importantly, stock up on high-grade PokeBalls. Ultra Balls are a solid bet, but Timer Balls are also a good choice if the battle wears on.
