Ryanair is ideal for those on a budget with cheap fares to the likes of Alicante, Malaga and Madrid for less than €15 each way excluding its baggage fees. It has quite an impressive choice of UK airports to depart from.

Jet2 has quite a generous choice of UK airports to fly from, as well as an impressive list of Spanish destinations it flies to including Alicante, Barcelona and Malaga.

Consider alternative dates: If you can be flexible by a day or two, you could find slightly cheaper fares. Price comparison sites such as Skyscanner or Cheapflights.co.uk can be good sources for this.
Awkward flight times: We're talking first thing in the morning or arriving late at night. These times aren't the most popular which means there can be deals to be had, so if you're not too bothered it's worth keeping an eye out. (As a bonus, you may even avoid airport crowds!).
Don't dismiss package holidays: If you're after cheap flights and a cheap hotel, then a package holiday could actually work out more budget-friendly. British Airways , TUI , Thomas Cook and easyJet Holidays all offer flight and hotel deals.
Book early: Often some of the cheapest rates and fares are released but quickly snapped up by bargain hunters - if there's a sale and you find the deal that's perfect for you, it's worth getting in early to beat the crowds.
