How to find and beat Spawn of Oggdo in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has finally launched, and gamers around the world are embarking on their second planet-hopping adventure in a galaxy far, far away. The open-world video game sequel sees the return of Cal Kestis, a former Jedi Padawan introduced in 2019’s Jedi: Fallen Order.

Set five years after the first game, Jedi: Survivor follows Cal – now a powerful Jedi Knight – as he continues his crusade against the Empire. With his droid companion BD-1 in tow, Cal traverses the galaxy visiting planets both new and familiar.

Each planet is chock full of hidden secrets, valuable treasures and an array of dangerous enemies. The game also includes several ‘Legendary Beasts’, tough mini-boss fights that pose a threat to even the most hardened Jedi Knight.

These beasts include the Rancor, Vile Bilemaw and the Spawn of Oggdo. The large reptilian-like creature Oggdo was one of Fallen Order’s toughest and most notorious enemies.

Somehow, Oggdo had a child, and it made its way to the planet Koboh and is hungry for vengence against the Jedi who killed its parent. Here, we explain how to find the Spawn of Oggdo in Jedi: Survivor and how to beat it.

How to find and beat Spawn of Oggdo in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Spawn of Oggdo can be found on Koboh, the planet that acts as Cal’s hub. The Legendary Beast lies in the Fort Kahlin area, so players should start at the meditation point here.

From here, look for the nearby grapple point near the corner of the area leading to an upper walkway. This leads Cal through a series of circular doors, some of which are locked, so follow the path ahead and follow it to the left.

Players should head to the large platform – after unlocking the previously locked door to open a shortcut if needed. This area hosts a large group of droids, but the fight can actually be avoided unless you want some pre-fight lightsaber practice.

When the player moves onto the large circular plate in the centre of the platform, it will open and drop Cal into a huge pit where the Spawn of Oggdo lies in wait. Players should note that this optional boss is one of the toughest in Jedi: Survivor, so it may be worth saving it for later in the game after collecting as many Stim upgrades and abilities as possible.

After collecting at least 10 Stims, this boss can actually be fairly easy to beat with some well-timed dodging and button bashing. The double-bladed lightsaber is a good option here, as it offers high defense and some quick attacks once most of its abilities have been unlocked on the skill tree.

The best course of action in this boss fight is to hang back and wait for the beast to unleash one of its several attacks. Some of these attacks are unblockable and will deal a lot of damage.

You will know these are coming because Oggdo will begin to glow red. The unblockable attacks are its lunge attack – before which it will puff up – its bites, and its tongue grab.

Avoiding the unblockable attacks by jumping behind or to the side of the boss gives you the best chance to get in some quick hits before it turns to attack. Oggdo’s regular bites can be parried, giving Cal a short window to get in some counter-attacks afterwards.

Utilising the Slow Time force power can also let you get some good attacks in by bashing the square button before the effect wears off. Remaining calm, dodging Oggdo’s glowing-red attacks, and keeping an eye on the health bar while using a Stim when needed can see players beating the beast with relative ease.

Once he’s down, a poncho can be looted from the chest in the room and a Sense Echo can be found next to the door.
