How to Fight a Dragon's Fury by Cressida Cowell – review

This is the best but saddest book in the How To Train Your Dragon series because it’s the last.

The book starts with Hiccup having lost his memories, Alvin about to be crowned king and Hiccup’s friends and enemy dragons all searching for him. At the beginning it seems impossible for Hiccup to be crowned king instead and stop the dragon rebellion.

Throughout the book you think something bad is going to happen to Hiccup but then it turns out to be ok, you are constantly worried then happy again just like in the other books in the series. This makes it a really exciting story. As usual Hiccup faces lots of tasks and dangers, the scariest one is when he has to try and persuade the ginormous dragon Furious to stop the rebellion.

Dragon Fury

Some of my favourite parts of the story are the funny bits like Hiccup thinking he doesn’t know anything about dragons (having lost his memory) or when Toothless is showing off as usual.

Hiccup is my favourite character because he is a hero who never gives up, is good at riddles and knows lots about dragons. I am really sad this series has ended because it’s my absolute favourite series. I have enjoyed all of Hiccup’s adventures and really wish dragons were real; I would love to go into my garden and discover a Riproarer or maybe a triple-headed Deadly Shadow.
