How to Fast Travel in Forza Horizon 6 and save time on Xbox & PC

Forza Horizon 6 makes fast travel much easier than before, tied to exploration only, and you don’t need to spend Credits.

Once you know how the map works, moving across the world takes only a few seconds, which saves time between races, events, and car collection runs. You can open the world map, hover over a valid road or location you have already visited, and then confirm the trip.

With that said, here’s how you can easily Fast Travel in Forza Horizon 6 to save time, unlock more locations, and move around the open world map faster.

To fast travel in Forza Horizon 6, all you need to do is:

  1. Open the pause menu and go to the world map
  2. Look for a road or location that is already unlocked and marked as visitable
  3. Move the cursor to that spot and select it
  4. Press the on-screen confirm button (X button on both Xbox controller and PC, even if you’re using a mouse and keyboard) to start the fast travel
  5. Wait for the short loading screen, then you will appear at the chosen spot

Where can you fast travel to in FH6?

In FH6, you can fast travel to roads, houses, festival areas, and other visited locations, as long as the map recognizes them as unlocked. Valid roads show up in white or orange instead of grey, which is a quick way to tell where travel is available. If the area still looks greyed out, you have not driven there yet, so the game will not let you jump to it.

The fastest way to unlock more fast travel points is to drive through as many roads as possible early on. If you are planning a long session, unlock key event routes, nearby houses, and major hubs first so you can bounce between them without wasting time.

Fast travel is especially useful when you are grinding festival events, chasing collectibles, or hopping between race types on opposite sides of the map. A little exploration upfront makes the rest of the game much smoother.

Fast Travel in Forza Horizon 6 vs older FH games

The biggest change in Forza Horizon 6 is that fast travel is no longer tied to board hunting or house purchases. In older Forza Horizon games, players often had to unlock the feature in more annoying ways, but FH6 removes that friction.

Fast travel is one of the best quality-of-life features in the new game because it cuts down dead time and keeps you focused on driving, racing, and collecting cars. You spend less time crossing the map and more time doing the parts of the game that actually matter. Once you unlock a good chunk of the map, the whole game starts to feel quicker and more flexible.
