Like previous FromSoftware games, emoting is a form of character self-expression and has always been a handy way to communicate with other players. Elden Ring: Nightreign continues that tradition and makes it even more useful, whether you’re celebrating a victory, expressing defeat, or just goofing around.
Here is how you can perform an emote in Elden Ring Nightreign, set favorites, and add more emotes to your collection.
How to perform an emote in Elden Ring Nightreign
To perform an emote in Elden Ring Nightreign, you need to bring up the equipment menu by pressing the menu/options button on your controller or escape on the keyboard. After that, access the emote section by pressing Y / Triangle / 1 and go through available emotes and hit confirm (A/X) on the one you want to use.

You can perform an emote during an expedition or at the Roundtable Hold.

Keep in mind, emotes do not give you invincibility frames, so don’t emote in front of enemies and bosses, they will hit you.
Set favorite emotes in Elden Ring Nightreign
If you like a few particular emotes and use them regularly, you can set them as a favorite by hovering over them in the emote menu and pressing X/Square on the controller, or 2 on your keyboard. This will neatly place them on the top row of the menu with a marker on the top left.

Unlike Elden Ring, though, there isn’t a shortcut for these, and opening the menu is still required.
How to unlock new emotes in Elden Ring Nightreign
You can purchase new emotes from the Small Jar Bazaar at the Roundtable Hold by spending your hard-earned murk.

While you’re at the Rountable Hold, you can instantly teleport to them by opening the map and selecting Small Jar Bazaar from the list on the left.

Emotes in Elden Ring: Nightreign are pretty cheap and cost 200 murk each.

As you take on more expeditions, their stock will be updated with new emotes routinely added.
Given the fast-paced nature of Nightreign, I doubt you’ll have much time to perform emotes. Most of your communication should be done through something like Discord anyway, because every second spent not running is wasted in this game. That said, there are plenty of fun emotes in Elden Ring Nightreign, and you can still use them in the Roundtable Hold without a worry.
