How to donate to Captain Tom Moore's Just Giving page for NHS fundraiser

100-year-old Tom Moore has now raised over £29 million for NHS carers working on the front line of the coronavirus crisis.

The WW2 veteran successfully completed 100 laps of his 25 metre garden before his 100th birthday on 30 April 2020.

He originally set a fundraising target of £1,000, and walked ten laps of his garden - with the help of his walker - at a time.

So far Tom has raised over £29 million, with more than 1.2 million individuals donating to his fundraiser.

As the donations continue to pour in, here's how you can contribute.

How to donate to Captain Tom Moore

You can donate to Captain Tom Moore's campaign on his Just Giving page.

The money is going to NHS Charities Together - which represents, supports and champions the work of various NHS charities.

It will be spent on well-being packs and recuperation rooms for NHS staff, as well as electronic devices that will allow hospitalised patients to stay in touch with family.

As his campaign passed £12 million earlier this month, Captain Tom appeared on Good Morning Britain with a special message for NHS staff.

He said: "You're all entering something where you are putting yourselves in danger and you're doing that for all the people. You are doing a marvellous, marvellous job."

The 100-year-old has now raised almost £30 million, with people continuing to donate.

Originally from Keighley, in West Yorkshire, Tom completed a civil engineering apprenticeship before being enlisted at the start of the Second World War.

He was selected for officer training in 1940, and went on to serve in India.

Donations to his Just Giving page accelerated after he appeared on Good Morning Britain earlier this week to tell his story.

Piers Morgan personally donated £10,000 to the campaign.

Tom Moore served in the 145 Regiment Royal Armoured Corp (SWNS)

Captain Tom has become the biggest single fundraiser in the history of Just Giving, and there are calls for him to receive a knighthood in recognition of his services to the country and to the NHS.

He said standing before the Queen to be knighted would be the "greatest honour that any person could get."
