How to defrost windscreen in quickly with 'magic' ice melting button

You may be missing out on a simple and quick way to clear your windscreen as the chilly weather continues.

Temperatures in Glasgow have dipped in recent days, with defrosting cars part of many morning routines as the moment. And to help speed up the process, experts at Driving Test Success shared a snappy way you can clear your windscreen but hitting one button.

Have a look in your car for the windscreen fan button and turn it to the max to melt the ice away 'instantly'.

Taking to social media to share the tip, Driving Test Success explained the tip in a Tiktok, reports The Express.

“Frozen windscreen? Put the temperature on high.

“Put the front windscreen fan on max. The ice will start to melt from the heat.

“Wipe away excess water and return the fan to normal."

The video is now being shared, with thousands of likes from viewers praising the simple but effective advice.

One user wrote: "Wow magic the ice is gone.”

However, not everyone was onboard, with one user saying: "Wastes more fuel. Just get [out] and scrape it off you lazy so and so.”

The experts also shared some further advice, explaining in another video that you should your car demister before setting off.

They said: “Now don't use your windscreen wipers or washers as that won't help.

“Turn on your front and rear demister.

“The rear demister also heats up your side mirrors in most new cars. But if the mirrors are not clear, make sure to clear them before you start driving."
