How to defeat Prophet boss in SAROS

The Prophet is one of the first Overlords/bosses you’ll face in SAROS, and it is a real skill check for you to understand the projectile overload on your screen and get past the first biome.

The boss appears in an underground nest after finishing the Scattered Rise region, and it is an overgrown alien plant, which tests your agility. If you treat the boss fight like a damage race, you’ll get shredded in no time. However, if you treat it like a pattern, slow down, read the projectile patterns and key moments, the fight suddenly feels a lot more beatable.

Here’s a complete breakdown of all the phases to defeat the Prophet boss in SAROS and make your way to the second biome.

How to defeat Prophet boss in SAROS

As you start your run, going past Primary in the world, make sure to choose the right artefacts and weapons. While normal artefacts give you better stats, the corrupted ones give you even better stats, but they usually come with a catch. In terms of weapons in the early game, I’d recommend picking up Ricochet Handcannon and Smart Rifle with homing missiles, which are amazing at taking down the eyes of the Prophet boss.

Now, let’s dive into the bosses’ different phases, their moves, and how you can counter them easily to win them easily and clear the boss every time.

The first phase begins with the alien plant’s smaller buds opening on both sides of the arena. Destroy these first to expose the main boss and start dealing proper damage. Thankfully, if you’re using the recommended weapons, precise aim isn’t too important since many shots naturally track toward the targets.

While attacking, focus on managing the Prophet’s projectile patterns. Dodge through the yellow waves to avoid taking damage, but stay still when the blue projectiles approach, since your Soltari shield can absorb them and charge your power weapon for extra damage.

Avoid stepping into the red grass at the edges of the arena because it slows your movement and leaves you vulnerable to the boss’s expanding ring attacks. When those rings appear, either jump over them or perfectly time your dodge to avoid getting hit.

The second phase once again starts with the Prophet spawning buds around the arena, so your first priority should still be destroying them to expose and damage the main boss. After that, the fight becomes much more chaotic with several new attacks layered into the encounter.

One of the biggest threats here is the plant spores the boss places on the ground. If left alive for too long, they explode into waves of yellow projectiles that can quickly overwhelm you and deal unnecessary damage. Take them out as soon as they appear while continuing to dodge incoming attacks.

The boss also introduces large circular corruption waves during this phase. You can avoid these either by positioning yourself in the small gaps between the waves or by using a power weapon with a vacuum bomb effect, which can absorb nearby projectiles on impact and create breathing room during the chaos.

Once the final phase begins, the Prophet constricts the arena and limits you to the center platform, drastically reducing your mobility and making its projectile patterns much harder to avoid. The boss also becomes far more aggressive here, with faster attacks and tighter windows to react.

Stay near the middle of the arena and focus entirely on survival first. Prioritize clean dodges, avoid panicking when the screen fills with projectiles, and use your power weapon whenever it’s available to chip away at the boss’s remaining health. Since movement space is limited, overcommitting to damage can quickly get you killed. Even if things go wrong, this is where your second-chance revive can save the run. Use that extra life to stay aggressive in the closing moments and finish off the Prophet before the arena overwhelms you.

After landing the killing blow, you can walk past the region and reach the point to continue into the Ancient Depths biome to continue your run to return to the Passage. Every boss elimination gives a large amount of Lucenite, which is the currency required to upgrade your proficiency level in the runs to get better weapons and use them for the progression system to get stronger.
