A refinement item is anything you can make in the Refined Material category at a crafting station. There are five different categories of items you can craft, and only those listed in this single specific category count for the Star Path duty. Refined Materials include items like Ingots, Night Shards, Fabric, and other similar assets.

Although all refinement items count for this task, some are much easier to make than others. If you're looking for the best use of your resources, I recommend crafting items like Iron Ingots, Brick, and Soil since you need lots of all three to make other crafted items like paths, fences, and furniture.
Some of the other items are much more costly to make and not as useful, which means you may end up wasting resources. It's best to pick items you think you'll likely use in the future to make sure you don't spend your precious materials on items you don't need.
Craft any refinement item in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To complete the craft any refinement item task for the Witchful Thinking Star Path event, you need to make 30 items in the Refined Material category. How you break up this process is entirely up to you, which means you can mix and match between different items or make 30 of the same.
Finishing this mission gets you 20 Tokens to spend in the event. It's a decent reward for your efforts, but not the absolute most you can earn from a single task. Still, it's certainly one worth tackling, as crafting is one of the easier quests to get done.
You still might need to stock up on more Tokens to claim some of the bigger prizes, though. Luckily, there are plenty of other duties to tackle, so consider working on cooking a fairly fancy appetizer, digging for pottery material, harvesting something white and fluffy, and collecting some shoreline shellfish next.
