The very first season of Forza Horizon 6’s Festival Playlist is live with the Welcome to Japan campaign that will last the whole month. It is divided into four seasons, and the first one, Summer, has already begun.
Playground Games started with a relatively easy-to-complete week, and completing all the weekly events and challenges will take between an hour and two, depending on your skill and a bit of luck.
Here’s the comprehensive guide on how to complete all Week 1 events in Forza Horizon 6 Festival Playlist Series 1.
All Week 1 challenges in Forza Horizon 6 Series 1 playlist
Weekly Challenge — Gazoo Racer
In this weekly challenge, we have to drive the 2022 Toyota GR86 and complete four challenges with it. These challenges need to be completed one after the other; you can’t just skip to the final one and do it first.
- Own and Drive the 2022 Toyota GR86
This one’s straightforward. If you don’t have a 2022 Toyota GR86 in your garage, you can easily purchase it at the Autoshow for 28,000 credits.
- Earn 3 Stars at Speed Zones in the 2022 Toyota GR86
To maximize your chance at getting 3 stars at Speed Zones, upgrade the car to A-tier and PI of 700. It doesn’t cost much and will be covered by the prize money from the event anyway. We’ll also need it later. Pick any sub-200 km/h Zone and give it a shot.
- Earn 6 Speed Skills in the 2022 Toyota GR86
Right after you finish the Speed Zone, fast travel to the highway and simply drive in the traffic for a couple of minutes, and all the skills will be promptly earned.
- Win the Hakone Nanamagari Touge Race in the 2022 Toyota GR86
This is the most challenging event of the four, as the Hakone Nanamagari Touge Race has a PI limit of 600. Downgrade your car to this number, and then enter the event. Your opponent’s Toyota AE86 will have a faster start, but you can simply punt them in the first corner and overtake them, after which you simply defend the apexes of the corners to win.
Photo Challenge
This one’s easy: simply travel to the Horizon Festival location and take a quick picture. Nothing specific is required, so you can simply capture anything you like.
While there, you can also test drive the Mazda Furai, the main reward of the whole Series 1 playlist.
You’ll get the Cat Meow horn as the reward for completion.
Treasure Hunt
To get this, you need to find the treasure chest and smash it to get 100,000 credits as a reward. Fortunately, the location of the chest is clearly marked on the map, so you can simply fast travel there and smash it. If you’d prefer to drive, it’s located to the northwest of Tokyo, so it’s very easily accessible.
Seasonal Championship — Hot Like Summer
The Seasonal Championship — Hot Like Summer is a series of three races across Japan. You don’t have to do them consecutively, and you also don’t need to win them all to become champion, as you get points that are tallied after all three are finished.
The event is restricted to C-Class 500 PI Retro Hot Hatch cars. Cheap and powerful options would be a 2002 Acura RSX Type S or a 2004 Honda Civic Type R.
The reward for winning the Championship is a 1989 Toyota MR2.
Seasonal Championship — Street Fighter
Just like the Seasonal Championship — Hot Like Summer, Street Fighter is also a series of three races with all the same caveats applied to them.
The event is restricted to A-Class 700 PI Modern Super Saloons, and there are lots of good cars to choose from. In my experience, the 2021 Audi RS E-Tron GT, due to its superior electric engine acceleration, is the best choice, but a more traditional 2012 BMW M5 or 2018 Mercedes-AMG E 63 S will also get the job done quite easily.
The reward for winning the Championship is a 2022 Pagani Huayra R.
Seasonal Championship — Throwback Throwdown
Just like the previous two, the Seasonal Championship — Throwback Throwdown is also a series of three races, with the same participation and winning rules.
This time around, it’s a rally championship, and will require you to use a B-Class 600 PI Retro Rally vehicle. There’s not a lot to pick from, but the best options would be either a 1998 Subaru Impreza 22B-STI Version or a 1986 Lancia Delta S4. Alternatively, pick whichever Mitsubishi Lancer is available to you.
The reward for winning the Championship is a phenomenal 2021 McLaren Sabre.
Time Attack
The next challenge is a Time Attack set at the Sekibe Time Attack circuit. It’s a World event, so you can just rock up with the car of your choosing and immediately start racing.
The challenge has an A-Class 700 PI Japanese car restriction, and all you need to do is achieve a lap time of 01:06.000 or faster. Any 700 PI rally car is more than capable of doing this, especially if you have the Welcome Edition Mitsubishi Lancer.
The reward for completing this challenge is a Wheelspin.
Danger Sign
The Airfield Takeoff danger sign is where our upgraded 2022 Toyota GR86 will come in handy, as the event has the same A-Class 700 PI Japanese car restriction. The easiest way to clear the required 213 meters is to maintain the speed of around 150km/h through the corner, then accelerate as you clear the apex, and if your speed is above 190km/h before you jump, you will clear the challenge.
The reward for completing this challenge is a Wheelspin.
Speed Trap
The Bamboo Hilltop Speed Trap has the same A-Class 700 PI Japanese car restriction as the previous two World events, so simply pick whichever car you used in the Sekibe Circuit Time Attack. You need to reach the speed of 177km/h, which is easily doable on this segment of the dirt road.
The reward for completing this challenge is a Wheelspin.
Horizon Play — Floor It!
This could be the most tedious and time-consuming challenge to finish, as it requires you to play online and do a specific condition, which does not always suit the kind of race you get queued into.
Simply continuously compete in the Horizon Play races until you get long-distance sprints in Hypercars. When you do, concentrate on reaching high speeds on the straights rather than winning. If you do, you will easily get the required amount of High Speed skills over the three races of the championship.
The reward for completing this challenge is a Ford Lightning.
Hide & Seek
This is the easiest challenge to complete from the list, as all you have to do is play a single Hide & Seek match online. Yes, you only need to participate in the match; you don’t even need to win. Just queue up online and do your best.
The reward for completing this challenge is a Ferrari 296 GTB.
Monthly Rivals
The final challenge of the first week is the time attack race at the Soni Circuit, where you’ll be driving one of the Season 1 reward cars — Mazda Furai. All you need to do is simply set a valid time to complete the challenge.
The reward for completing this challenge is a Super Wheelspin.
Daily Challenges
In addition to the aforementioned weekly challenges, we also have the daily ones that will gradually unlock every day. They’re very self-explanatory, and completing each one awards you 5,000 Credits.
