The final week of Series 2 Festival Playlist, Horizon Decades, also features the iconic 6v6 co-op racing event, the Trial. Unbeatable-level Drivatars need to be challenged by six players in a team-based best-of-three championship.
This week’s Trial is all about modern muscle cars, and you will need to choose one of these monsters from a fairly wide selection.
How to unlock The Trial in Forza Horizon 6
The requirements to unlock the Trial in Series 2 remain unchanged: you only need to have earned the Gold Wristband and unlocked the Legend Island to the south-east of Tokyo.
To earn the Gold Wristband, play through the Festival events, complete the Showcases, and don’t skip the World Events like Speed Traps and Danger Signs to get the required number of points. Wristbands unlock new event access as you progress, and the Gold Wristband also grants access to Legend Island and other late-game content.
How The Trial works
Rules of the Trial are also unchanging: you need to team up with five other players in a best-of-three online event and beat Drivatars of Unbeatable difficulty. The most difficult part of this challenge is to nail your teamwork, as players ramming into each other are a much more frequent cause of loss than those Drivatars being “Unbeatable.”
In Series 2 Week 4, The Trial is called Cut to the Chase. It is worth 10 Festival Playlist points. It’s restricted to the A-Class 700 PI 2010s Modern Muscle, and rewards the 2017 Ford GT
Best car for The Trial in Forza Horizon 6 Series 2 Week 4
There are several good options for this week’s Trial, like the 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 or the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. But the best option for this event is the famous 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. It has a formidable base top speed, and being a 678 base PI car, it also has decent room for some upgrades.
It’s actually quite easy to overshoot the required 700 PI, and tuning this car’s upgrades isn’t easy either, so if you don’t want to do it manually, use this share code instead: 114 874 302.
Honestly, the 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is probably a more forgiving option in terms of upgrades, but you simply can’t compete with the Demon’s raw pace.
How to win The Trial
This week, the Trial has some treacherous mountain roads that can easily end your race if you overshoot your braking distance and fall off a cliff. The races simply aren’t long enough to make up even one rewind, so be extra careful not to miss the checkpoints or drive off into any of the numerous ravines.
It’s still very important to play as a team. You can drive well, but if you drive into your teammate and they have to use a rewind, that’s on you if the team loses. Do not, under any circumstances, divebomb in this event.
What you can and should do is nudge your Drivatar opponents into obstacles and walls when you can; this way, you can help your slower teammates catch up even if you can’t outright make your AI opponent crash.
As always, try not to miss any checkpoints. Rewinds are costly time-wise, and Drivatars punish these mistakes harshly.
The Trial completion checklist
Before starting The Trial, make sure you have:
- The Gold Wristband
- An eligible car. The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is what we recommend.
- The car is tuned to 700 PI.
- Patience to likely have to run the event several times.
