If you’re hoping to add Peter Pan to the Valley as a villager in Disney Dreamlight Valley, one of the main quests that you’ll need to tackle is The Music’s on the Walls.
This whimsical task sends you off on a scavenger hunt, searching for treasure and glowing musical notes. Here’s a complete guide to The Music’s on the Walls, including every crucial location and riddle solution.
How to finish The Music’s on the Walls

There are quite a few quests that you’ll need to finish before you can pick up The Music’s on the Walls in DDV’s Mysteries of Skull Rock update.
To start, you’ll need to have every biome unlocked in the game, along with having Olaf and the Fairy Godmother unlocked in the Valley.
The quests that come before The Music’s on the Walls are Shadows on the Wall and A Ship of Gold. In turn, unlocking these requires completing Friendship quests from The Forgotten.
Inside Skull Rock
As soon as you’ve finished A Ship of Gold, The Music’s on the Walls will pop up for you, with the first step being to follow The Forgotten into Skull Rock and speak to them, grab the key on the floor near the shadow, then follow the sparkly music note that appears as it floats away.
While you’re working through this quest, make sure to sell any spare items you’ve got in your inventory as one of the later steps requires you to build Peter Pan’s house, which costs 20,000 Coins.
A Memory will pop up once you nab the glowing note, so grab this and take a look before you press on with the next objective—it contains hints for a later step.
The Captain’s Chest
At this point, the quest log will prompt you to find another clue inside Skull Rock, along with unlocking the Captain’s Chest.
Head onto the ship and into the cabin on the main deck, then use the key you picked up near the shadow to open the wooden chest at the back of the room. Inside, you’ll find a note with a treasure map.
Go back to The Forgotten and discuss the treasure map to continue. You’ll then be prompted to find the Buried Pirate Treasure, along with five more Glowing Musical Notes.
Where to find the Buried Pirate Treasure

To start, head back to Dazzle Beach and hop on the raft that you initially took to unlock Ariel as a villager, just off the main coastline.
Turn to your left as you arrive on the island and dig up the treasure marked with a pirate’s flag. Pick up the loot that pops out, including the Pan Flute, then head back to the raft to return to the Valley.
Where to find every Glowing Musical Note
Your next aim is to get five Glowing Musical Notes. The Memory from earlier and the discussion with The Forgotten both hold the answers here. You can find the Glowing Musical Notes in:
- The foyer of the Castle, running up and down the stairs
- The treehouse in the Forgotten Lands
- In the water of Ursula’s cave
- Inside the portal cave in Frosted Heights, stuck in an ice rock
- Skull Rock again, where the answer to the riddle you get asked is Pixie Dust
When the quest log confirms that you have all five Glowing Musical Notes in your inventory, head back to The Forgotten and speak to them.
Shuffle the music
Next, insert the Glowing Musical Notes and the Pan Flute into the music stand. You’ll need to play the full musical score, using the buttons on the barrels to interact with each musical note on the wall and line them up to match what’s shown on the sheet music.
Peter Pan’s shadow will interfere, and after you’ve spoken with The Forgotten again, you’ll end up needing to craft a Pixie Dust Lantern. This requires the same materials as the crafting recipe used in Shadows on the Wall.
Head back once you’ve made the item and use it to trap the shadow in the section between the two walls, then redo the musical note puzzle.
Once you’ve done this, Peter Pan will appear, frustrated with your efforts to ruin his fun. To persuade him to join the Valley, you’ll need to play a game of hide and seek with him.
Hide and seek
When Peter Pan runs off, head back to the Plaza and hop through the portal near the Castle entrance. He’s hiding inside the Dark Castle, so head up the path and go inside.
Follow the pixie dust trail to make your way through, looking for the piles of glowing dust on the floor. After a few doors, you’ll find Peter Pan and be able to discuss joining the Valley with him. All that’s left to do at this point is to place his house in the Valley to welcome him as a villager.
