How to complete Gazoo Racer challenge in Forza Horizon 6

The first Festival playlist, aka Welcome to Japan, arrived in Forza Horizon 6 on May 21, and we can get some useful rewards from the Gazoo Racer challenge. This is a weekly test that’s been made available in the first week of the festival.

Let’s find out how you can complete this unique task to come one step closer to the iconic Mazda Furai, which is one of the highlight cars of this festival.

The Gazoo Racer objective has four different tasks to complete.

This is the first, and perhaps the easiest, of all four tasks. You need to drive the GR86 after picking it from your garage. You can obtain it directly from the Autoshow (or find one in the Auction). You have to spend 28,000 Credits to get the vehicle in your collection.

Earn three stars at Speed Zones

You have to complete a Speed Zone challenge (pick any that you like) with the average speed meeting the three-star threshold. Ideally, you’ll want to pick a race whose threshold is low. Pick a race that has 193.1 km/h as the requirement (as shown in the image above).

Next, select a spot that features a lot of traffic. Preferably, this should be a straight path along the highway. This makes it perfect for you to chain Speed skill and Near Miss skills (just dodge the incoming traffic). Eventually, you’ll complete six Speed skills to finish the third task.

The final task is to go on a one-on-one race and take down the opponent. The job is easier said than done since the track has a lot of narrow turns you’ll have to master. I have highlighted the location of the race in the image above (refer to my mouse pointer – the white circle).

Defeat your opponent and finish the race, and you’ll complete the first weekly tasks of the Welcome of Japan festival.
