How to complete A Ship of Gold in Disney Dreamlight Valley

A Ship of Gold kicks off right after you finish the Shadows on the Wall quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley. It’s part of Update 17’s story content and brings you one step closer to meeting Peter Pan. If you’re looking for a walkthrough to lead you through this quest, you’re in the right place.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Ship of Gold walkthrough

Walk through the gate you unlocked at the end of the previous quest. It’s right next to the shadow figure you trapped. Head up the ramps to the top floor of Skull Rock and talk to The Forgotten (who will have whatever name you chose for them, courtesy of the A Forgotten Name quest).

Search the new area and break the rocks

You’ll need to find a way forward. Look for some rocks on the left side of the small cliff where The Forgotten is standing. Use your Royal Pickaxe to break through.

Behind those rocks, you’ll find a Pixie Dust Orb and a Rope Winch on the ground. Pick them up and return to The Forgotten to talk about what you found.

Follow the Pixie Dust Orb and collect Pixie Dust

The orb takes off, and your next job is to follow it and collect the Pixie Dust it leaves behind. It’s fast, so be ready to sprint (eat a meal to add the golden sprinting stamina to your stamina bar).

Here are the six drop locations:

  1. At the edge of the cliff, behind two large rocks.
  2. Next to the ship on the ground floor.
  3. Through the ground floor cave entrance – place the Rope Winch on the wall, spin the wheel, and go through. Follow the orb until it stops at a stone wall. Use your Pickaxe to break it and grab the third dust.
  4. Further into the tunnel, past more breakable walls.
  5. Next to a chest with candles on it – break the wall, turn left, then left again to find the fifth dust.
  6. Back in the previous room – go back on yourself to chase the orb and collect the final Pixie Dust and the orb itself.

Make the ship fly

Head back to the first floor and find the ship on the left side. You don’t need to read the nearby note to continue. Just interact with the ship while standing on the pier to sprinkle the Pixie Dust.

The ship will rise and become a bridge.

Return to the top of Skull Rock and walk across the floating ship to reach the far side. Go down the stairs to where The Forgotten is waiting. Talk to them to continue.

You’ll see six barrels, each with a symbol. Your goal is to match them in pairs by rotating the barrels to face each other. The challenge is that the barrels that match are across from each other, so you’ll be running back and forth a bit (thankfully, the ship acts as a bridge).

Here are the correct pairings:

  • Hook + Clock – for Captain Hook
  • Bell + Pixie – for Tinker Bell
  • Needle + Shadow – for Peter Pan

Find the key to the Captain’s Cabin

Look for a golden key sitting on a round table just behind The Forgotten. Pick it up, then go into the ship and interact with the sparkling door to unlock the captain’s cabin.

Open the gate

Inside the cabin, check the back right corner of the room near the piano. Pick up the Rope Winch, then leave the cabin and return to The Forgotten.

Place the Rope Winch on the glowing circle behind them, spin the wheel once, and the second gate in Skull Rock will open.

That wraps up the A Ship of Gold quest and brings you even closer to meeting Peter Pan! Keep going to uncover what’s next in the valley.
