Skate has all sorts of memorable tricks, but most of them are commonly found throughout the world of skateboarding. However, the franchise is also known for a few niche tricks that some players might not even know exist. One of these tricks is the Coffin, which is a common trick amongst dedicated skateboarders and Skate enthusiasts.

How To Pull Off The Coffin Trick In Skate 4
Fortunately, the Coffin isn’t a difficult trick to perform in Skate 4, unlike some of the Grab Tricks that are available. To effectively pull off a Coffin, you want to have some decent momentum while riding your board, approach a relatively straight and flat area, and then press the following button combination:
- LT/L2 + RT/R2 + X/Square + A/X
When you press these buttons all together at the same time, your character will grab both sides of their board and lie down flat with their hands in their pockets. You’ll see their legs kicked out and head slightly tilted up so they can see where they’re going. Effectively, you’re lying flat on your board, as someone would do in a real coffin.
It’s best to do a Coffin when you’re facing a straightaway, as it’s difficult to steer in a certain direction while performing the trick. While you can steer a little, you won’t have as much control as you would while riding the board normally. So use the trick at your own peril when trying to navigate cars or buildings.
The Coffin is mostly a niche trick in Skate 4, but there are some fun uses for it. For example, you can Coffin down a massive ramp and gain huge air while lying flat on your back. Then, you can get up from the Coffin and perform another trick if you have enough airtime. Players in the past have also been known to score some pretty impressive wipeouts as a result of the Coffin.
