Thousands of passengers were stranded after all lines at Leeds station were closed this morning.
All trains running to and from the busy station were suspended at around 7am on Thursday, May 30, after concerns were raised about a man who British Transport Police say 'was in a precarious position'.
Lines were reopened shortly after 11am, after the man was brought to safety and detained under the Mental Health Act, but passengers are being told to expect long delays, cancellations and diversions for the rest of the day.
If you are one of the passengers who were affected by the delays and cancellations, then you could claim compensation.
Northern, Cross Country, TransPennine Express and London North Eastern Railway (LNER) have all signed up to the 'Delay Repay' scheme, which allows passengers to claim for compensation within 28 days of a delayed journey.
Just make sure you can produce a scanned copy or a clear photograph of your ticket.
Delayed season ticket holders are also entitled to compensation. The amount you can claim is usually based on how many journeys the season ticket is meant to be used for.
You will need to visit the relevant train operating company's website to figure out what sum you need to do for a season ticket compensation claim.
