How to Christ Air in Skate 4

There are some truly iconic tricks that the Skate franchise has featured over the years. However, few are more iconic than the Christ Air trick, which sees your character perform a T-pose while in the air. You’ll also have your board in one hand and usually spin around while floating in the air, just as Christ might if he too wanted to shred some tricks. As many players have discovered, Christ Air is back in Skate 4, and you need to perform the trick if you want to complete a certain challenge.

While you can read our other guide about how to perform every trick in Skate 4, this guide will go into a little more detail about Christ Air specifically. So, figure out how to pull off this iconic trick by reading below.

How To Perform The Christ Air Trick In Skate 4

You’ll most likely encounter the Christ Air trick for the first time when trying to complete the Redemption Air Own the Spot challenge in Skate 4. While this is an “Amateur” Own the Spot challenge, the Christ Air trick can make it difficult to complete.

For your basic Christ Air, you need to hit these buttons to perform the trick:

  • Press and Hold R2/RT + Circle/B while in the air

While Christ Air sounds like a normal trick with its button combination, it slightly differs from most other tricks in the game. This is largely because Christ Air revolves around spinning around with your character while performing the trick, which is actually a separate task within the Redemption Air challenge.

So, the best way to perform Christ Air is to go up a half pipe or any other ramp that will allow you to get a good amount of distance. Then, as soon as you’re in the air, press and hold the buttons we laid out above. This will make your character go into a T-pose with their arms stretched out to the side.

If you leave everything else on your controller alone, your character will simply float there until you decide to end the trick. However, for the full Christ Air experience, you can rotate your joystick around to make your character spin while they’re performing the trick in the air. This is the way Christ Air was intended to be pulled off, and the trick looks a little silly if your character doesn’t spin at least a little.

Of course, adding a spin to the trick does mean you have to end the trick in the right spot in order to land it. If you exit the trick while your character is facing sideways during the spin, you’ll have a difficult time landing on whatever surface you’re currently below. The best way to do Christ Air while spinning is to only spin for a duration that allows your character to land safely, which means they have to be facing the right way when you stop the trick.

Aside from those tips, performing Christ Air is all in your hands in Skate 4. Fortunately, the Redemption Air challenge gives you a perfect ramp to practice the trick on, so make sure you’re taking advantage of it when first learning Christ Air.

That’s all we have on how to perform Christ Air in Skate 4. Make sure to check out our other guide on how to do the Coffin trick next.
