How to check hygiene scores when ordering a takeaway through Just Eat

Browsing takeaway after takeaway on Just Eat can take up a huge chunk of your lazy night in.

The app pulls up hundreds of choices for diners looking to get their take out fix delivered to their door.

Even when you've decided what type of food you want, there are rivals with similar ratings who you have to pick from. Of course, everybody has their favourites, which in a group that can make choosing even harder.

But Just Eat's latest feature may well make the decision for you.

That's because customers can now easily view Food Standard Agency hygiene ratings for every takeaway included on the delivery service's website and app.

The scores - from 0 star to 5 star ratings - are all there, based on the business's most recent available inspection report.

The scores on the doors have been added to Just Eat partners in England and Wales, following a trial in Northern Ireland.

Just Eat says the addition follows customer feedback, and should encourage restaurants and takeaways to keep high standards.

How to check your takeaway's hygiene score on Just Eat

When you view a takeaway's page on the Just Eat app or website , you'll find three options under the business's name - menu, reviews and info.

Click on 'info' to quickly view the takeaway's latest available FSA hygiene rating.
