How to change FOV on PC and Console in Borderlands 4

One of the most important aspects of enjoying Borderlands 4 is setting the Field of View (FOV) to your preference.

While it's always vital to use a FOV that feels natural to your eyes, the importance rises when considering general performance since the game's launch. Once again, the gap between PCs and consoles arises when you're trying to customize the FOV values.

How to change the FOV in Borderlands 4 on PC?

Changing the FOV on your PC is extremely easy. The FOV Slider is available under the Video settings.

  • Open the game and let it load to the main screen. If you're encountering crashes on the way, there is a workaround.
  • From the Visuals menu, go to Basic.
  • There are two Field of View sliders.
  • Field of View is the setting applicable to your in-person view.
  • Vehicle Field of View is the FOV you get inside a vehicle.
  • You can increase/decrease it as per your liking.
  • Once done, save the changes, and your customized FOV will be enabled inside the game.

You can tweak the FOV between 70 and 110.

Can you change the FOV on console for Borderlands 4?

At the time of writing on Sept. 12, it's impossible to change the FOV on consoles. Whether you're playing on an Xbox or PlayStation, the FOV is locked to 70 by default. There's no possible way to tweak this value for console gamers.

Whether Gearbox will ever add the feature to consoles remains unknown. If added, it would be welcome news for those on consoles, as 70 FOV isn't a pleasant experience. Like all shooters, you benefit from having a higher FOV (my sweet spot is at 90), and having the ability to change that is undoubtedly beneficial.
