Something spooky is going on in Beast's castle, and it's up to you to put a stop to it in Disney Dreamlight Valley. One of the first key steps in this process is finding a strange flying painting for Lumiere.
Lumiere doesn't give you much guidance for finding this item, so it's a decently tough ask. If you're stuck on this task, here's how to catch the flying painting in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Where to find the flying painting in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The flying painting is a gold-framed picture of a rose that can be found looping around the castle endlessly. It follows a circular pattern throughout the hallways, through the Beast's room, into the secret passage, around the library, and back out into the halls.
In The Haunting of Beast's Castle quest, the castle is very dark, so it can be tricky to spot this item. If you're having trouble locating it, stand in one spot and spin around. Since it's stuck on a loop, it'll eventually get to you, so you can easily just wait around for it rather than trying to chase it down. The painting does sparkle a bit, has light pink rose petals around it, and some white swirling wind around it, making it fairly easy to spot once you know what you're looking for.
How to get the flying painting in Disney Dreamlight Valley
The flying painting can be grabbed using the interact button once you're right next to it. This button varies by platform, but it's always displayed right next to items you can grab, so once you're close enough, you'll see it pop up. Since the flying painting is decently fast, you might need to consume some food to keep up with it, as it might slip away fast even if you know its path and are standing still waiting for it to reach you.
There's plenty more to uncover and much more work to be done to unlock Lumiere and Cogsworth. Next, you might try working on some Witchful Thinking Star Path duties like digging for pottery material, practicing mine-fulness, and harvesting something white and fluffy.
