How to build Corvette in No Man’s Sky

The Voyagers update 6.0 in No Man’s Sky has introduced Corvette-class starships, which are large, modular, fully customizable, and designed for multi-crew use. Here’s everything you need to know about building one to set on a deep space journey with your friends.

Corvette-class ships have to be constructed from hundreds of modular parts, including hull plates, connectors, cockpits, wings, and habitation modules. Its interiors are fully traversable and customizable, allowing you to furnish rooms and add functional tech modules, enhancing ship handling and stats.

Since Corvette building supports multiplayer crew functionality, you can let friends join you for cooperative exploration and missions, which will multiply the fun factor several-fold. This makes crafting a Corvette ship even more enticing in NMS after the latest update.

How to craft a Corvette-class ship in No Man’s Sky

There are several steps you need to follow sequentially to build your idea Corvetter in NMS:

Locate the Corvette Workshop

Dock at any station, and look for the specialized Corvette building zone. This is the creative hub you have to look out for, where you can craft your new starship from scratch using all the Modules and customizations you want.

Accessing the workshop early is crucial, as it will then let you plan your Corvette building without obligations.

Choose your Corvette Base and Silhouette

Once inside the workshop, select the general shape and size of your Corvette. You have total freedom here, from compact and nimble to enormous and imposing—choose whatever floats your boat. Then, fix on the overall silhouette as this determines the ship’s profile and atmospheric flight characteristics.

I suggest experimenting with shapes here. You may go with classic angular designs to give it a more retro look or smooth, curved lines to give it a modern look; it’s totally up to you.

Customize Hull Plates and Connectors

Now, add hundreds of hull plates to define the ship’s armor and structure. Use connectors like scaffolds, angular linkages, and heavy ducting joints to shape the ship’s framework and add character.

Mix and match a variety of parts to build a unique silhouette. Each choice will affect how your Corvette looks and handles.

Select Your Cockpit and Hab Modules

Like any other airborne vehicle, the cockpit is the soul of your Corvette. Choose from options like the Titan-class militaristic cockpit with rich instrument panels, the streamlined Thunderbird-class, or the minimalist Ambassador-class.

Equip your ship with hab modules, as these will define crew spaces. The Outlaw-inspired Thunderbird habs feature gritty exposed pipes and protective padding, adding personality and function.

Plan and build the interior

Since Corvettes are fully traversable three-dimensional environments, you can add rooms, passageways, and custom interiors to ensure easy access to different parts of the ship. Placing windows and glass walls will make sure you are not missing out on the breathtaking views of the space.

Furnish the interiors with available decorations to create a comfortable and personalized living space, calling it your home.

Install functional modules to tune performance further

Your Corvette’s power matters, especially during long cosmic travels. The ideal modules you should install are:

  • Reactors to boost energy
  • Engines for improved speed and maneuverability
  • Shield generators to protect you in combat

Add Wing modules for atmospheric flight

Wing modules will enhance the atmospheric control and flight look, so attach those items to your Corvette. These modules will add lift and stability when entering planetary atmospheres, while giving your ship an aerodynamic shape.

Once you’re done, invite your friends aboard for multiplayer missions. Use the Mission Radar to coordinate objectives and deploy the Corvette as a mobile base for group exploration, combat, and resource gathering.
