Browsing on tablets and mobile is set to overtake traditional desktop browsing by the end of this year, meaning it’s more important than ever that a website looks its best across the multifarious screen sizes on the market today. This hands-on, intermediate-level course examines the fundamentals of optimising web pages to ensure a consistent user experience for any device.
You’ll build a sample web page, enabling you to familiarise yourself with the essential responsive design techniques and principles, including working with fluid grids and responsive images. You’ll also gain an understanding of the mobile-first strategy, which imbues your web design with greater flexibility. By the end of the course, you’ll have the skills necessary to build new responsive websites, or retrofit your existing one.
This course is for you if...
- You’re planning or building a website that your target audience is likely to browse via a tablet or mobile phone
- You’re an aspiring web designer who wants to take advantage of the boom in mobile and tablet usage
PLEASE NOTE: While this is a standalone, intermediate-level course, it could also work as a follow-up for anyone who has been on our Build a website: Introduction to HTML5 and CSS3 course.
