How to book your coronavirus vaccine if you are eligible in Scotland

Scots can fill in an online form for their coronavirus vaccine appointment if they believe they are due to receive the jab.

Adults aged 18 to 39 are currently being offered for their first dose in some areas of Glasgow amid concerns over the so-called Indian variant.

The city has seen a recent spike in cases, with the seven-day infection rate per 100,000 soaring to 104.6 - almost three times higher than the national average.

Over 18s in the Battlefield, Gorbals and Hutchesontown, Govanhill, Aikenhead, Kingston West and Dumbreck, Maxwell Park, Mosspark, Pollokshields and Strathbungo areas of the city are being prioritised for early vaccination.

There is also concern over the number of cases elsewhere in the country - with East Renfrewshire and Midlothian seeing a sharp rise in infection over recent days.

Scots across the country who should have been given an invite for the jab have also been urged to come forward to make an appointment with NHS Scotland.

Scotland's National Clinical Director, Professor Jason Leitch, said: "If for any reason you missed your first dose, we don’t care why, we’re not going to judge you, we just want to see you or if you missed your second dose because you thought ‘I’m already vaccinated, I don’t really need it’, please come forward. We’d love to give you that full protection."

People who should be eligible for the vaccine can now input their details with health officials to book their appointment.

The missing appointment form says that people aged 40 to 49 should receive their first dose coronavirus vaccine letter soon.

Scottish Government officials say that they have offered an appointment to those in the JCVI priority groups one to nine - which includes those with underlying health conditions and people over the age of 50.

Scots input their age, which NHS health board they are based and their contact information.

NHS Scotland aims to respond to entry of the form within 72 hours - but could take longer due to a high volume of enquiries.

The latest figures released by the Scottish Government show that more than three million people have been given their first dose of the Covid vaccine.

More than 1.6m Scots have moved onto their second dose of the jab.

Scots can access the missing appointment form here. People can also find out more about the vaccine and potential appointments on the vaccine helpline on 0800 030 8013.
