How to book for Trakol ahead of July reopening at Gateshead's By The River Brew

With news of restaurant reopenings being served up thick and fast following the Government's easing of restrictions, the next big name to grab foodies' eye is Trakol.

The acclaimed restaurant inside the By The River Brew Co. on the Gateshead banks of the Tyne is to reopen on July 4 and is taking bookings for that date onwards.

By The River Brew Co. meanwhile has announced that it will reveal its own opening date on Thursday.

Trakol contacted customers who have dined there previously in order to offer them advance opportunity to book a table.

And it has outlined the "stringent operating plan" returning diners will find in operation.

Designed with the highest standards of service and levels of safety in mind, it says it will involve a socially-distanced experience and from now on only pre-booked table service.

There will be fewer tables and the on-site tap bar will now form part of the restaurant, to give more space among diners.

And an app enabling diners to order at their table will be in use so that customers can choose to order and pay from their seats so that they can further minimise all contact if they want.

In a message to customers, Trakol chef Rory Welsh and team said that they are excited about coming back and added: "We will of course still have our team of super friendly front of house staff taking care of your every need in a socially distanced and secure fashion."
