How to beat Fourth Chorus in Hollow Knight Silksong

If, like many others, you're currently exploring the dangerous depths of Hollow Knight: Silksong, you'll eventually come across the intimidating boss named Fourth Chorus. Appearing fairly early in the game, located in the Far Fields, this mechanical menace offers one of the biggest upticks in challenge during those early hours.

So, if you're having trouble beating this aggravated automaton, we've got everything you need to know with our full guide.

First up, be aware that the bottom area of the level is lava, which will hurt you, and any of Fourth Chorus' downward attacks have a chance to destroy the platform you can stand on. Watch out for that platform disappearing, and remember to use the Drifter's Cloak to buy yourself time when descending from a jump. Importantly, you need to hit Fourth Chorus in the head to do any damage.

Secondly, be sure to pay attention to the light that comes from the Fourth Chorus' hands. These indicate how it's about to attack. If it glows when a hand is high above, it's about to slam an attack down to the ground, so sidestep, then jump up and attack its face.

If its hand glows off to either side, it is about to do a large sweeping attack in the opposite direction, so jump over as it comes your way. If you have the time, try and strike upwards at Fourth Chorus' head as you jump over this sweeping attack.

Once you manage to hit it a few times, while avoiding these main hand attacks, eventually Fourth Chorus will cause lava rocks to fall from the ceiling. Use the dust trail that falls to anticipate where the lava will drop, and sidestep. Once again, use any opportunity you can to hit Fourth Chorus in the face, while avoiding the falling hazards.

Eventually, when you have done enough damage, you will cause Fourth Chorus to fall forward with its head on the ground. This is a moment where you have some time to plan, so if you're low on health, then use this time to Bind and recover. However, if you're doing great, then just get a few extra licks in while the boss is vulnerable.

Repeat this process over and over until eventually the platforms you have been walking on will become more unstable. At the same time, two updrafts will become visible on either side. You are entering the end of the fight, so be particularly careful.

While avoiding the attacks from Fourth Chorus, jump on over to one of the two updrafts, and use your Drifter's Cloak to ascend to the top of the screen. Here you will see explosive rocks embedded in the ceiling, so be sure to knock them down.

Once you do one side, repeat this same task on the other side, and you will knock down a huge rock that eventually incapacitates Fourth Chorus for good. Pull off all this successfully, and you will have defeated Fourth Chorus. Congratulations! Sadly, there are many more difficult bosses up ahead.
