Scots will be able to attend the COP26 Green Zone without a ticket for the remainder of the summit, it has been announced.
Previously, anyone seeking to visit the Green Zone must have secured a ticket for an event being held in the area.
Tickets for a great number of talks and workshops were hard to pin down, with many of them ‘selling out’ just days after they were made available to the public.
But now organisers have confirmed that Scots will be able to walk in to the Glasgow venue from today until the conference’s conclusion on Friday.
What is the Green Zone?

Events in the Green Zone have been organised by the UK Government and have been designed to showcase the impact that climate change is having on the planet.
Youth groups, civil societies, academia, artists and businesses are among the organisations showing what they are doing to tackle and highlight global warming.
Scots will be able to look at exhibitions, cultural performances and workshops, while attending events and talks in the Green Zone.
Where is the Green Zone being held?
The Green Zone will be held in the Glasgow Science Centre and will be open 9am to 6pm every day - with the last admissions coming at 4pm.
An evening programme will also take place in the cinema from 6pm to 10pm, according to the organisers.
The Glasgow Science Centre is based at 50 Pacific Quay, Glasgow, G51 1EA.
Information on how to get to the venue can be found here.
Is there a difference between the Green Zone and the Blue Zone?

While the Green Zone is an open space for anyone to attend, the Blue Zone is strictly for negotiations between involved parties only.
Discussions will take place in the Blue Zone between the delegates and leaders of all 197 countries and territories taking part in the conference.
Some organisations will also be allowed into the Blue Zone to share their stories at panel discussions, side events, exhibits and cultural events.
Everyone attending the Blue Zone must be accredited by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
