How to apply to be on ITV's The Chase as applications open

Applications to become a contestant on ITV's The Chase are now open.

The Chase has been on our screens since way back in 2009, and is currently casting for its 15th series. The idea is a group of four strangers compete, first as individuals, to win money while going head-to-head with one of Britain's best quizzers.

Anyone who beats the chaser moves on to the final chase, where the team go head to head against a chaser in a two-minute quick-fire round. Successful teams split the money they've won equally, sometimes walking away with thousands of pounds.

If you think you've got the brains to outrun the chaser, here's everything you need to know about applying.

First, you need to be over 18 years old at the time you submit your application for the programme. You also must be a legal resident in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man and also be currently living in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man.

There are audition locations all across the country, including Liverpool, so if you get past the first application round you shouldn't have to travel too far for an audition, or it might take place via video call. You can't apply if you, or an immediate relative or live-in partner are employed by ITV, or have been employed during the past 10 years.

To apply you need to fill out an application form, and you'll need to provide more contact details like your address and phone number, as well as where you're from and your occupation.

The application also asks for some information about what you would be like on the show, for instance, it asks how competitive you are (and for examples), what degrees or qualifications you have, and to rate your knowledge across different categories (like film and TV, history, etc.).

The application also asks a few questions that fans will recognise, as presenter Bradley Walsh often asks contestants for some info about them before they get started.

If your application is selected, you go through to the auditions phase, and could get chosen to be on the show. You can learn more, and fill in application if you want to, here.
