The Skate franchise has always been about messing around with your friends and trying to land that one trick you absolutely shouldn’t have tried. The new skate. makes it easier than ever to connect with friends across platforms.
It doesn’t matter if your skating buddy’s rocking a PlayStation, Xbox, or just flexing on PC. Thanks to cross-play support, you can all have a blast, hitting spots in San Vansterdam together.
The Social & Spectate tab is where the magic happens. That’s your social hub for everything ranging from friend requests to party invites.
By the time you’re through with this guide, you’ll be adding and inviting your buddies without any hassle. So, dive in with me below as I walk you through the steps one by one.
Adding Friends In Skate 4 Step by Step

Forget the older titles that relied on PSN ID or Xbox Live usernames. In the new skate., it’s all about your EA ID. No matter what you’re playing on, that’s your one-size-fits-all universal tag. That’s all you need to add friends, super convenient if you ask me.
So, here’s the quick process:
Open The Hub Menu
PC: Press “ESC” on your keyboard.
Console: Open the map or main menu.
Go To Social And Spectate
This is skate’s social hub, a one-stop solution where you can manage your friends, parties, and requests.
Search Your Friend’s EA ID
Hover over the “Search” option and type in your friend’s EA ID. There’s no use for PSN ID or Xbox Gamertag, so don’t bother with those. The EA ID is what matters here.
Send The Request
Once you’ve searched the ID correctly, their profile will pop up from the results. Select it, and hit “Add EA Friend”.
Accepting Requests
After sending the request, your friend can accept it under the “Requests” tab in “Social & Spectate”. Once added, they’ll appear in your friend’s list, where you can manage invites and parties.
Inviting Friends In Skate 4
The next steps are pretty simple once you’re done adding your friends:
- Navigate to the “Friends” tab in “Social & Spectate”. Hover over their name, and click “Invite to Party”.
- Once sent, they’ll be greeted with an invitation pop-up to accept. After that, they’ll spawn straight into your session.
- Currently, skate 4 parties only allow for a max of four players, so if there are more of you, someone else has to back out to create space.
- An alternative way to play together is to click “Join Party” instead if your friend is already in a session.
- From there on, there’s endless fun; try out co-op challenges with your friends, or test each other with quick Throwdowns.
Hitting spots across San Vansterdam with your crew will never run out of fashion.
Cross-Play Settings
Cross-play is enabled by default in skate.; however, you also have the option to switch it off if you would rather stick to your own platform.
Tip: If you’re having trouble connecting, double-check that everyone has cross-play enabled.
PC & PlayStation: The option to disable cross-play is in the game’s settings under the Social & Spectate section.
Xbox: The toggle option is in your console’s system settings instead, so navigate there to switch it.
