A canny five-year-old managed to fool his mum into thinking he was doing his homework – only to find him playing with his toys.
Laura Mazza thought she was ‘nailing parenting’ only to find her five year old son Luca had pulled off the ultimate ‘scam.’
Laura came up with the idea to tackle the ‘mountain of work’ she had to do as well as keeping her eye on Luca while he did his homework in another room, the Mirror Online reports.
She said: "I put FaceTime on, so if Luca has a question when unsupervised, he can ask.
"I wanted him to feel trusted...
"But I did, so I’d quickly pick up my phone and have a peek and it looked like he was listening."
After a little while, she picked up her phone to tell him he could have a break, but he stayed eerily still with the same expression on his face.
Laura assumed that the screen had just frozen, so went upstairs to check on him.
As she walked upstairs she could hear Luca singing and playing with one of his toys.
Laura said: "I thought maybe he heard me say “break time” and ran off quickly to go play and it was frozen.
"So, I went over and saw a rather odd little setup that looked like two iPads mating.
"He had his sister's iPad, propped up and situated perfectly in front of his iPad’s camera lens...
"And what was on his sister's iPad you ask? A picture of him sitting at the desk looking slightly amused.
"And not just one picture - multiple pictures!
"The little s*** put up a fake picture so it would look like he was sitting there, listening!" - what an absolute genius.
When Laura confronted her son he apparently told her: "Yeah but I didn't just do one picture, I wanted to show you ALL my listening faces."
Before going on to quote something that his dad regularly says: "You gotta admit, I’m pretty clever."
Laura found the whole incident hilarious, saying: "Scammed by a five-year-old.
"I am dead."
